Informs 2020 Workshop - Part 1: Introduction to GAMS

This year we hosted a virtual workshop at the Informs annual meeting. The two hour workshop covered the full cycle from implementing a simple model in GAMS, to deployment in GAMS Miro, and finally solving models on centralised compute resources with GAMS Engine.

In this first part of the workshop Stefan explains the benefits of GAMS, and demonstrates how to implement and solve a simple optimization problem.

Hi, first I thanks for your well articulated presentation. I have some question would you like to answered these
1. With the LP we have only two constrainsts but as we move from two to three constrainsts we minimize the function using MIP. can we solve the function with LP if not why?
2) adding economies of scale we furhter changed our cost minimization function from MIP to MINLP. Will this remain same for all cases irrespective of the numbers of markets, comodities and constriants

Hello,
Any existing model in the GAMS library to schedule maintenance activities integrating two asset systems.
It should schedule the activitis which can be done together integrating the two asset systems.

Ex : Rehabilitation of sewer pipe line while the road is overlaying.

Please help me with this. Thanks in advance.
