Decades ago there were enough small sawmills to clean up the forests, there were lookout towers and forestry workers helped with fire fighting. The Boreal forest is designed to burn for regrowth. Either humans manage the forest or mother nature takes over, its been like that for tens of thousands of years.

This is the arson. Two people found by RCMP, but released.

Very odd interview, she seemed more concerned about making a political statement than the fact multiple intentional fires are being set

Yesterday morning, 32 specialised and highly trained forest Firefighters from Québec boarded two CL-415 water bombers from the Société de protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU) for Alberta, Ontario has 47 firefighters that also headed for Alberta.

Does no one remember Rachel’s response to fort McMurray fires

Who started all those fires? To believe that around 100 fires started by itself without lightings is ridiculous.

Did nobody listen to her announcement she litterally said shes asking help from the federal government my god people are clueless

Seems a little early in the year for fires? Anyone behind this? Either way, the federal government should be doing more then enough if we can afford hundreds of millions to Ukraine.

The Premier ALREADY did ask for and AGREED to take outside help! I can understand this lady being really busy and worried right now so maybe she isn't aware. But if this was a responsible report that information would have been included.

Hit piece reporting. But, yeah, wild fires should be taken care of if it is a white zone or green zone.

Natures natural selection and it’s the governments fault? Not smokers flicking their butts out the vehicles window, no carelessness of humans, not controlled burns getting out of control during a dry spring.
NOT NOTLEY is the word.

Same thing happened here in BC with the white rock lake fire, the premier refused federal help, perhaps if they had accepted my in-laws would still have a home. When your in serious trouble and your offered help, you should accept, if you don't your an idiot and you'll sleep in the bed you make. I honesty feel for these people I know exactly how they feel.

What we need is, the RCMP to be driving around looking for someone starting them.
The response time and reporting is what we had problems with!

A big huge thank you to our fire fighters!

Was your frustration growing when Notley let Fort Mac burn down?

It's not up to Mrs Smith to actually go fight the fire herself....Quit with the slanted BS Notley is the worst decision ever to vote in..

Wild fires are not political. But they do require a leadership response. Good leaders begin with policies and resources that are already in place. If those prove to be inadequate then it will be time for political forces to work out the next response protocols going forward. Reaching out thoughtlessly for federal funds always has a cost. Nothing is for free.

The only people frustrated with the response are the uneducated bunch that listen to Notley…..let’s remind everyone about her response to the Fort Mac fire….her response was nil

Nice try blaming the government of Alberta. Why don't you report the real story?
