Jürgen Roelandts' Canyon Aeroad CF SLX | Team Movistar Pro Bike

For 2020, Movistar ended a 37 year long partnership with Campagnolo components and moved over to Sram's latest wireless AXS groupset, Zipp wheels, and disc brakes: quite a departure from their more traditional set up of previous seasons. Ollie was out at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad to take a look at the Canyon Aeroad CF SLX belonging to Belgian classics specialist Jürgen Roelandts before he took it to battle on the Belgian cobbles.

What do you think of Jürgen Roelandts' bike? Hot or Not? Let us know in the GCN App:

The weather's been absolutely georgous here in Belgium - dawn to dusk sunshine - ever since racing was banned due to the lock down....

On the Zip logo: with small usage, they look good, modern with enough reference to the previous logo. But when used on the full rim, cut in half, I can hardly see that they are letters, with that in mind: I think they probably should have taken the application of the new logo in mind when doing this.
I’m not sure if a radical change like this was required... logo changes of big brands are often best when they clean up details while hardly being noticeable. I wonder why ZIPP want’s to go from an artisan font style, that uses personal choice to something that is more industrialized and run of the mill (like Mavic, for instance, that offers something for every budget)

I love the old logo, which I feel is a perfect visual presentation of the word "Zipp". The new logo has no soul.

The Aeroad is a classic & it should be by now. The whole road and TRi/TT Canyon lineup is overdue for an update. I was hoping 2020 would have been the year.

Zipp wheels look terrible now! Overpriced too!

I just watched the Movistar documentary on Netflix over the weekend. Pretty fascinating to see what went on behind the scenes, especially all the controversies that took place in 2019 e.g. Quintana vs Landa; not stopping but continuing at a fast pace after the race leader crashed at the Vuelta; Carapaz ditching the team for more money; etc...

Don't really see the new Zipp logo is bad, tbh. Not as good as the old one, but not one you call "ugly". Now I wonder if they got Shimano instead of SRAM...

Also, I'm still in love with the Movistar color.

Hi Ollie, Ken here . I like the new logo but, I would like a "stealth" logo better and if they were cheaper, ya just like everyone else wants . I have a Sram group set so yeah I'm a fan of that team .

When filming, please not against the light, we can hardly see any details of that bike.

Which logo looks better, new Zipp or old Zipp? I think the Bora Ultra logos looked best.

How on earth do you people ride medium bikes at 185cm!? Personally I watch this for interest, as a confessed plus tyre mountain biker... Even so at 175cm and 89cm inseam I quiver over L vs XL. How do you do it???
