Boogies Train at: KWVR - 13 October 2024

In this episode I look at the two car class 101 DMU that was operating some of the services. Includes several clips filmed on board so that you can enjoy the experience of riding in a first generation DMU and look out of the front window to see the route ahead. This forward view was one of the selling points of these units when they were introduced.

Excellent video Mr Boogie. Yes the 1st generation DMU's were great, cleaner and more efficient. However like most things they aged and became unpredictable. The cold weather was there enemy and outstationed units would cause issues with the service as some engines would fail to start due to flat batteries. However a lot of the drivers were very resourceful and would have little tricks that helped the starting process. Great video.
