The HF "Murasama" Blade

The "Murasama" Blade is a popular weapon in the game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It is originally used by Jetstream Sam, the 2nd and 2nd last boss in the game's storyline. After completing the storyline, the HF "Murasama" Blade becomes unlockable and can be purchased at the Raiden Upgrades > Main Weapons. It's stats can be upgraded by 5 levels each, those being Strength (Weapon Damage), Energy Usage (Energy used during Blade Mode) and Energy (Energy taken from killing enemy cyborgs)

The most popular asset of the HF "Murasama" Blade is the sheath. The sheath isn't like any other. It's easily noticable by the appearance and a seemingly random trigger. This trigger however has a purpose. It's used to set the gunpowder inside of the sheath ablaze, exploding inside and freeing the blade at a large speed, allowing quick and powerful blows which sometimes can be fatal or gamechanging. This power of the "Murasama" was only shown in 2 cutscenes of the game. In the DLC this ability is featured differently, using quick slashes rather than a quick one slice. It isn't as fatal as in cutscenes for obvious reasons and it can often be spammed to get a lot of damage in on bosses as Sam doesn't have as many combos as Raiden.

The HF "Murasama" Blade belonged to Samuel Rodrigues, who is referred to as Jetstream Sam. His blade was originally his father's, before one of his pupils killed him. Jetstream Sam inherits the blade and starts adding upgrades to it due to the recent rise in technology, turning the blade into a HF one and adding a lock that only unlocks according to the identity of the current wielder. It's set to only unlock while Jetstream Sam wields it, however it will disable a couple hours after his death, as that is what happens in the game. Before the Badlands Showdown, Jetstream Sam talks to Blade Wolf about the lock. Blade Wolf is a former Desperado cyborg dog, now is Raiden's ally. During their time in Desperado, after each mission, Jetstream Sam and Blade Wolf formed a close bond, which is why Jetstream Sam didn't kill him before meeting Raiden.

After the Badlands Showdown, Blade Wolf takes the Murasama blade, since it was part of their deal that if Sam dies, Blade Wolf can take the Murasama blade and do whatever he wants with it. During the Armstrong fight, Blade Wolf appears to give Raiden the Murasama blade, while revealing the conversation he and Sam had beforehand. Raiden then engages in a boss fight while he cannot use any unique or side weapon and must use the Murasama (his original HF blade got shattered by Armstrong).

During this fight the HF "Murasama" Blade is proven to be very durable as it takes hits from Armstrong without problems. It also showed to not have a single scratch after deflecting several bullets while being wielded by Sam, which many blades couldn't do. It proves that the blade is not only razor sharp as it cuts through MG Ray armor with ease, it's also proven to be insanely durable.

It's important to note that Jetstream Sam only had basic cyborg upgrades, so he was still mostly human. His artificial right arm made by Desperado, and some power cells and stuff as Jetstream Sam can regenerate health from taking enemy cyborg power cells via Zendatsu.
