Why would you recommend as an alternative?

A few days ago I bought a 15-foot fiber optic hdmi from "Pure Fi", It cost me $49.99, In a couple or several months I will give an update on its operation and durability. What worries me the most about this type of cable is that I've seen several people complain that they ruin the HDMI ports of the devices, I hope that's not the case, It's unlikely that at this length it will fail, but you never know.

I bought 7 of these cables more than one year ago, and all are working.

I ordered 2 33ft cables. One died after about 6 months, it still works but won’t do 4k 120 anymore, I ran 2 just in case I needed a second at some point because it’s behind my fireplace and the second one has been going good for about 8 months now. It’s funny I found this because I was trying to find cables to replace this with

I bought a 50ft cable and it lasted 1 day. After installing it in my home theater room everything was working great. Stated watching the next day and in the middle of a movie it stopped transmitting a video signal. Sent it back to Amazon. Going to try a Ruipo cable.

Glad i found your video. I purchased many of these sane cables on Amazon and even recommended them. Sadly 3 of my cables from them have died within a year. Even shorter length cables like 2m.

Yeah, I'm about 9 months into my first FIBBR Cable, and it's fine, although Im just using it to watch 4K, Atmos, 60 fps, HDR/DV content, not 8K.

Maybe these cables you bought are from bad batch?

Amazon does replace these, even If I don't have any problems with all the 5 Fibbr cables I own.

Does it make any difference on image quality between fibbr optical hdmi and those cheap copper hdmi cables with the same specs hdmi 2.1 ultra speed? I want one to connect my pc with rtx4090 and gaming monitor at 4k 240hz with distance within 2-3m. Thanks

I have 6 cheap 50 feet hdmi optical cables which I use on gigs. I expected them to fail much quicker then the sdi cables I aslo have. But I have not yet one failure of optical-hdmi cables yet. So maybe it is just fibbr brand? It does not dimiss other cheap brands at all. beware of buying optical-fiber more expensive cables. That would kill the prurpose. If a 50 feet cable is more expensive then around 50 US$ then you better calculate again if sdi + converters at both sides is the better option at around 250 us$ (2x black magic converters + cable drum + 50 meter sdi cable)

I wired mine into the ceiling after testing it. Tested it again after running the cable through the ceiling and it stopped working. Due to the follow on work, I was not able to remove the dead cable, so I just cut it to get it out of there. Turns out it is NOT even a fibre optical cable! It has 9 internal copper wires within the cable, along with some shielding. No optical fibre anywhere. It doesn't seem like Ethernet either. Not sure what it is, HDMI is 9 pairs of reverse twisted cables, so not that either. But regardless, it is not what it is advertised as.
