I listened to this song probably over 100 times during the 5 plus years that I was addicted to methamphetamine. I know the song is about cocaine but in the lyrics Ozzy uses the words
"Ice" and "Crystal"
This song brings back a lot of memories...some of them are happy memories that I cherish because I was still with my ex girlfriend who is also the mother of my son. We used and got high together pretty much on a daily basis. I loved her then and I love her now.
To be honest...I am still in love with her. We went through so much together...good and bad and at times...INSANE...but never boring. If I had to describe our relationship in one word that word would be INTENSE. She once described the love we shared as the "Perfect Love" and I agreed with her 100%.
Sadly...we barely even speak to each other now. It's painful. I don't even know this person anymore who was once my whole world. I miss her and what we had together very much. I'm afraid I will never find a love like that again and I have pretty much given up on ever finding love again at this point. The one AMAZING thing that came out of our relationship that still remains is our son TITAN. He is my reason for getting sober and staying sober. I don't love myself enough to do it for me...but I love my son more than enough to do it for him. That is for GODDAMNED SURE.
I have accepted the fact that his mother and I will never be together again the way we were and that i will never have the family that I so desperately wanted with her and my son. The time she and I shared was the happiest time of my life...and now that time has passed and is gone forever. As I write this i am in recovery at a sober living house in New Orleans.
The memories this song evokes in my mind can only be described as "BITTERSWEET"
I want to tell her how I feel again...right now...but she already knows in no uncertain terms how I feel and what I want and she doesn't want that anymore. So I'm afraid that any efforts to express all of that to her again would be in vein. I have expressed my feelings to her many many times. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and the wonderful time we had together and I don't think I'll ever be "OVER" her.
