First they lied about developing the game with the PC in mind, then they force a parity by downgrading the lighting and graphics. Now they want us to re-buy the game they originally promised? TOP KEK

For any and all who are too lazy to read the press release on the site and just start shooting questions in the comments:

"All versions of the game will include the following features (Existing Dark Souls II owners will receive a patch to implement these elements):

-Additional NPCs added for an enhanced story experience. 
-Parameter adjustments for improved game balance.
-Augmented item descriptions. 
-Improved online matchmaking functionality. 

Xbox One, PS4, and DirectX 11 versions of the game will include the following features (in addition to those listed above): 

-Additional upgrades to graphics, sound, performance.
-Increase in maximum online players in single session (6 total)."

This means that only the PC and Current Gen version will have the 6 player upgrade.

Well shit. Looks like we're getting the nondowngrade version back. That, or they're just releasing the PC version for PS4 with it's 60fps and making out like it's a big deal.

The "improved visuals" if they do indeed exist better be a free update to the PC version as they were originally shown in pre release screens and trailers anyway.

People complaining about the price: it's free for pc users and ps3 users (and should be for the xbox 360 ones) who have the game, getting it through a patch. Of course it's isn't viable for the last gen consoles to have the graphical improvemente, but they will add all the extra content for free too (i bet that this new npc, the "scholar" is one), to owners. And of course you will have to pay to have it in ps4 and xbox one.
They do awesome things for you and you complain. Bunch of childish whiners.

Dark Souls 2 on Xbox One and PS4 pretty much confirms Dark Souls 3. You may think it's a stretch but typically moves like this are to offer players that may not have played it on previous systems, that upgraded a chance to play it. The Walking Dead did this for that very reason as there will be a whole host of seasons on Xbox One and PS4 over the next 5 years, that would be ignored by anyone that missed them on last-gen. So this is a way to make money yes, but it's also a way to get players invested in a game they may have missed so that they are into the series when Dark Souls 3 hits in a year or two.

so will people who already own Dark souls 2 need to repurchase the game to get access to the additional gameplay features and new NPC's? or will there be a cheaper way to upgrade our version or will it just be an update to the game?
