Kwesi Adofo-Mensah (Unfortunately) Didn't Build The Browns Offensive Line

Now that the Vikings officially have their new General Manager selected, fans have quickly jumped onto the boat to give their thoughts about Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. Unfortunately, many don't have correct information on him, or are simply making gross assumptions about a figure that they clearly didn't research. I'm hear to clear one of those notions up.

Rick went a decade of never producing an average offensive line. I bet this young man has more success and will not cripple this team with trading down for more 7th round picks or resign players he drafted that are overpriced.

It will be how he sets up talent evaluation that will make or break him. No GM is disconnected from the strength of the scouting department and staff. The GM usually collects the data presented by coaches and scouts then builds or ranks players for drafting. Most teams use a team approach in ranking players for the draft. Yes, GM's get the credit or criticism for picks made. The actual role in those selections is not as large as fans assume.

Kwesi has not had he opportunity to build a roster. This is his first shot.

Thing is...whether that is true or not is irrelevant. We already have four fifths of an O-line. I know Wyatt Davis hasn't played but that's because our coaching staff was filled with stubborn ego-maniacs that refused to take an L even when they were wrong (Oli Udoh, Dakota Dozier, Mike Remmers, etc). Wyatt Davis will be a good o-lineman. Christians Darrisaw will be as well. Ezra doesn't need to be great but he has been hovering between great and average all year. We have an elite tackle in Brian O'Neil. All we need is a center. If KAM can't get us a center then I will be concerned. But if there is one thing I have seen about KAM is that the guy knows the skill positions and knows where and how to allocate resources. I think the guy will be making some tough roster moves but it will be for the best so we can free up cap space to get some high end talent in Minnesota.
