All Tests Were Performed with The TP-Link Smart Connect Turned on. This feature allows faster wi-fi speeds and lower latency. The ASUS router tests were performed the same as well.

It is actually a very good price considering just the value of having the (4) 2.5 Gb switching ports.

I didn’t know Gavin Belson had a tech channel, subscribing now

Let me get this straight you have tested wifi 6 against wifi 7 without using ANY wifi 7 capable devices

It seems like Wifi 7 is still in early adopter phase where the differences are negligible due to the lack of devices that supports it. Thanks for sharing your findings!

That TP-Link Wifi7 design looks great, wouldnt look out of place on any set up ! Not a bad price too, shame about those enhanced LAN ports not being there 😞 Great video, thanks for sharing Vegas Mike !!! 🙂

good stuff Mike, Trying to use less WiFi but it is hard to do with speeds like this on the horizon

And I’m still on WiFi 6.
Hard to keep up with new stuff. :)

Good content as always, Mike. 👍🏼

would be interesting to see how much better the newer quad band routers are compared to the Tri-band

Great review thanks 🙏🏻 👍🏻 i have question in that if i have a wifi 6e phone and connect it to the tp link be9300, would it perform at the 6e standard or revert down to wifi6?

So i guess i should ask does the be9300 support all the wifi standards 4, 5, 6, 6e and 7 or is 6e excluded?

I think that seems not clear on wifi 7 in general and wpuld be beneficial for consumers to know in general, if indeed it does support it then companies should say that it supports all previous standards.

Great reviews, following closely from Africa. Is this Gavin Belson from Silicon Valley series??

What subscription services does the Asus option require? I dont see any, but you said they have them...

Right now neither for me personally, unless I uad zero other options like my current router dying, but even then I got some older equipment that I could make work. I really wish pfsense had vetter wireless support because its a MUCH better router/firewall solution, even if its overkill for most people. It just doesn't support mesh, just wireless APs with different ssids

If I had no oither option then I would look into WiFi 7. The abulity to combine all the frequencies to get the fastest speeds is just an awesome addition, but mostly for LAN reasons. With that said, it wouldn't be to link and thats pricey and 8ts the cheapest option. I would try to hold off a year because I wouldn't want to have to uograde in say, 2 years because local data transfers will (or should) be faster with a device that has WiFi 7 capabilitie WITH the eight router. .

That would have been the better test IMO although the Asus would probably still win because no actual WiFi 7 end devices to really test if the difference is substantial or not.

One thing is for sure, a lot more research would have to be done if I had no other option. Qirhout dojng that uts hard to say with 100 percent certainty but thats the main WiFi 7 feature I'm looking forward ro. 2.4ghz has great range bit the slowest speeds. 5ghz doesn't have great coverage and was kimited in what channels you could use due to other devices like land kine phones. I haven't personally seen 6ghz in action. Im sure its great, until everyone has it. At least you have more channel options though.

BE550 is the obvious choice especially with the future proofing.

In your video "Get Faster PS5 Internet gaming speed port forwarding explained (2024)" when doing the testing with the PS5 you were receiving 526.7 Mbps (DL) and 97.7 Mbps (UL). Now you're dramatically improved that with 859.7Mbps (DL) and 108.7 Mbps.

I guess my question here is what else did you need to do to improve on your original speeds? Was it hardware related? Both were hardwired.

So I have the BE24000 aka the BE900 and I feel like I can't get the speeds that I am supposed to despite having a 1gb plan. I have only gotten over the 1gb surprisingly somehow once in the year I've had it which is sad to be honest lol. For a router that is said to be capable of up to about 24GB, getting 800 to 900 plus is not it! I think TP-Link lies about their speeds for their products.

What is your source that you cited as "independent research" for performance numbers? Maybe I missed it?
The "independent" part is actually up to the audience to decide - "independent" would mean "conflicts of interest provided by the data originator are disclosed so your can determine that their results are independent of confounding factors", not "this publication is independent from me"
A quick google search would seem to point to dong knows tech
