Didio sounds like the kind of guy that didn't have his action figures cross over together. "No! The transfromers can't play with the GI Joes or the X-Men!"

If DiDio knew what he was talking about he wouldn't be the EX-editor in chief at DC.

Crossovers are a great way for franchises and fans to come together and appreciate what makes them great, not admitting defeat to one another

Didio sounds like the villain the heros would fight against

Y’all literally co-own the trademark for the word “Superhero” some extent of collaboration is IMPLIED

"Crossing over means you're admitting defeat"
No, making that statement means you're admitting defeat because it shows you're so insecure about your work that you think doing a crossover will highlight how inferior it is compared to your competitors.

The first part made sense and then he loses everyone

Bro, Marvel Vs Capcom is the perfect way to shut down this argument that it is admitting defeat. It was the introductiok to many americans to capcom classics, and to the japanese to Marvels superheroes.

Audiences dont have to be exclusive, people dont have to pick sides of what to enjoy. Most people see 2 cakes and goes "deamn, two cakes!"

Competition also includes being a good sport as opposed to being hostile or whiny. This comes off as someone that can't shake hands with the opposition

Imagine being proud of this. “That’s right, instead of being cool with each other I am the one who tore it all down.”

Saying that doing a crossover is admitting defeat to your opponent is maybe one of the stupidest things I've ever heard, because by that logic, your competition, who you are apparently doing significantly worse than due to your willingness to do a crossover, must simultaneously be doing so much better that you're willing to do a crossover and also doing so poorly that they have to settle for a crossover.

Dido lives to embody the word "Insecure"

Dan DiDio has done so much wrong in DC it's insane it took this long to get him out

If Warner Bros and Disney would just ignore all that nonsense and make a DC vs Marvel fighting game, I would be so happy

Very ironic that DC has done way more crossovers afterwards, its just not with Marvel. They did TMNT, they did RWBY, probably some more warner Bros stuff too. All arguably gimmicky, just not with competition

A crossover can be a very fun “what if” that explores something fans would have never imagined or only dreamed over. And if made by good authors, a crossover can enrich both sides and give a new appreciation. Plus a crossover shouldn’t show that “sales are down” but instead that ideas are off the wall

“Where do you go ever the crossover event, everything that made it great is gone” almost like every crisis event ever.
