Health Innovation Materials at the Materials Science Institute

The Materials Science Institute at Lancaster University is researching and developing new materials to solve problems in healthcare and medicine. Healthcare systems are under enormous strain to address pressures from ageing populations and the growth in non-communicable diseases like alzheimers, diabetes and cancers. We are pulling together research and expertise from all areas of Lancaster's outstanding research to provide new technologies and solutions to these problems.
