@ukesong this video shows how to add the folder artwork, but what if the picture doesn't show in the side pane? How do you add that picture?

For your Issue: You might need to change permussions of the .nki files. By right clicking the files -> properties, deselect the attributes "write-protected" and "hidden". Now, the files should be compatible with Kontakt

Thank you for the wonderful video you provided; it was very informative.

I am currently experiencing some difficulties with Kontakt 8. At times, it functions as expected, but on other occasions, it does not. I have been following the file path on my Windows machine:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image.

However, I have also located images in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native

Could there be a potential conflict between these paths? I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could offer to help resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Matt

regarding the "incompatible files" issue:
this always happens with instruments created with an old Kontakt version (< Kontakt 5).
The bottom line is: you need to resave every instrument with Kontakt 5 or newer for the import to work.

I've had this issue with an old organ library (Notre Dame de Budapest), which had been created with Kontakt 2 or 3.
I first tried to use the "Batch resave" function in Kontakt file menu. This only resaved the bank files i created, but not the original instrument (nki) files.
Probably batch resave only resaves, when there are in fact wrong sample path names, which is not the case in this library, as all nki are "monolithic" (every nki contains the samples it needs).
The "collect samples" function may work, as it always creates copies of all nki files. In my situation, it crashed after converting about 10 or 12 nki files.
So in fact i needed to load and save every single nki of that library.
After that the import works flawlessly.

Hi UKE SONG,
I am new in Kontakt and NI. So thanks a lot for your video and tips. It's helpful.
I followed your video to add the 3rd party kontakt libraries. Those folders are successfully shown up in the Kontakt's library browser, however it doesn't sound anything at all when clicking the UI's keyboard (midi region).
Meanwhile, when loading the instrument, the UI looks completely messy around with DEMO. I guess it is because the "MST_plugin.png" is missing from those 3rd party libraries. When checking other libraries that I downloaded from NI Access, couple of png files will be supplied in the relevant image folder under the path of NI Resources, namely: MST_logo.png, MST_plugin.png, OSO_logo.png, VB_artwork.png, VB_logo.png and XXX.meta
Inside those 3rd party libraries, there are only folders named - Documentation, Instruments, Samples and a XXX.nicnt file. I assume there is nothing missing inside the library folder but none of my 3rd party library plays a sound after adding them by the instruction shown in your video.
May I have your help on this (I had tried NK 7.9.0, and 7.10.5 as well) ?
Thank you very much.

For Kontakt 7, if it can help, with Kontakt 5 v5.6.6, I also re-imported my old Libraries by copying the XML files from the Service Center folder. yo

Thank you! Just to clarify, when saving the image, the file cannot say .png in the name when adding it to the images. I am not sure if I misunderstood the directions, but had the .png on the image name and could not get it to work until I dropped the .png so that it read MST_artwork

I added the library, and I didn't even need to do anything to add the image, but the problem is: when I click on a sound, it plays like a demo (a simple melody with that sound), but when I double click it, it just says that the file is missing, or there opens a window "progress", and in a while there opens an almost entirely white window with some buttons and the keyboard, but when I click on the keys, nothing plays. Also the CPU is like 100%

Could not add the image to the folder for some reason, I did everything in the video, it just don't appear when you open kontakt 7. By the way I changed the image to 400x200, 200x400 is like a vertical video.
