Spicetown Guitars Open Mic Night live at Cole's Bar in Chicago, IL 10/14/2023
Spicetown Guitars is an independent guitar-making and stringed-instrument repair shop founded by one of the coolest cats around, Shane Colin Morris. This event featured numerous artists playing a tune or two on the first ever fully handmade Spicetown Guitar, 'The Cardinal Double E', which Shane gifted to his father at the conclusion of the event. It was a celebration of life, love, and music and I think I can speak for everyone there when I say it was one of the most wholesome musical events witnessed in recent memory. ///
These videos are a part of an ongoing series highlighting independent/DIY artists performing live music, mostly in and around Chicago. My goal with this series is to document these performances, to help smaller artists find new ears, and to help people in our community (and abroad) find cool new bands. I hope this will make the Chicago "scene" a more connected, supportive, boundless, and long-lasting community.
