First of all: wonderful edit. Second of all: This is why good parenting saves lifes. I am still convinced that had Viserys only occasionally acknowledged the existence of Alicents children things would have played out very differently. Alicent and Otto with their constant talk of Rhaenyra putting all of them to death certainly weren’t helpful either (not saying that she definitely wouldn’t have done that even though I personally don’t believe she would have, we will never know), but this whole rivalry between Luke and Aemond is actually more on Viserys than on them. Because it is not about an eye. In my opinion it’s not even primarily about the throne (we all know Aemond’s fighting for his mother and maybe his sister, not his brother). I think it is about Aemond constantly feeling as though he has the short end of the stick: he’s second to Aegon who he thinks is unworthy of being king, he is second to Rhaenyra when it comes to his father’s love (probably even to his nephews; ever notice that after the argument on driftmark Viserys refers to Aemond as Alicent’s boy while calling Luke his grandson?) and he is second to his brother and nephews who all have their own dragons hatched for them.
And then there is Luke who is a bastard and doesn’t even look like a Targaryen and took his eyesight and he has it all even though he is also only a second son: He has not only a title, but an inheritance waiting for him (one he doesn’t want mind you, I don’t recall if Aemond is aware of that fact, but I’m sure it would really bother him), he has the love of his parents and grandparents, he has a dragon that literally shared his cradle and he didn’t have to do anything for any of that. Aemond doesn’t really want Luke’s eye, he wants Luke’s life (or Luke himself I guess if you are also a believer in the hot fever dream that is lucemond, no judgement here I went down that rabbit hole right along with you😅).

I really didn’t expect to get so obsessed with Lucerys x Aemond.
But they have such a tragic and intense relationship.
It’s sad that we won’t get to see them interact anymore.
And I wonder how the aftermath of episode 10 will affect Aemond.

God I still can think of this as serious. What I’m seeing is a man looking like his in 30 late 20s killing a 12-13 year child whit a tiny dragon. In the book I could imagine how Ameond and Luke look like here it’s disbelieving that they are the same children in the driftmark episode. It looks like luke had been aged 2-3 years old And Aemond 15 or more years
