When I had my 1023 I often said I honestly don't think the sub compacts have enough a$$ to pop a shear bolt, I darn near stalled that little tractor out a few times and never popped a bolt. I now have a 2038R, but my I also upgraded to a Frontier cutter with a slip clutch so I may never know. Some good information shared in this video for potential new buyers.

I've been pricing around Ontario Canada now that you've armed me with some great information.
Looking at a Kubota BX2680 and the Deere 1025. Might also look at a Kioti but we'll see how this goes.

Thanks guys! Went to buy shear pins at JD Dealer parts dept, one "kit" ( bolt with nut) was going to be $22.00. Went to TSC and got 6 for $9.00. just a grade 2 bolt.
