I worked at a store that sold denim jeans and we were always told to tell people not to put them in the dryer as it will make the elastic in the denim stretch out and no longer fit the same way as when you first bought them and to instead air dry them. Alternatively you can place them in the fridge/freezer to help keep the elastic from stretching.
