Sherman Tank Paints a Tiger 1 - Kelly's Heroes

In the midst of World War II, an array of colorful American soldiers gets inside information from a drunk German officer about millions of dollars worth of gold hidden on enemy soil. Kelly (Clint Eastwood), a private with the platoon, devises a plan to sneak past the German officers to steal the loot for his crew. They recruit more men and set their plan into action. Despite several casualties, the men are determined to press forward, even if it means striking a deal with the opposing army.

For those wondering why he shot paint

It was common actually....paint rounds were used in training but also on the battlefield when American tanks faced a fortification or tank it couldn't take out....they would quote "paint the target" shooting it with bright red or pink paint for air crew to bomb

Somehow the loader loaded the wrong shell

Love this scene, especially with hindsight from Girls und Panzer's Rabbit Team doing their own awesome take on this against one of Kuromorimine's tank destroyers in the TV serie's final ep.
