If you have more power than weight....you don’t need speed to fly....just hover.

I think. Its. V16 engi r. Not a turbo. Wide blade propelller. Probably 5 blades or 3 minimum.

He has a lot of confidence in his plane, especially in flawlessly running engine... Low ans slow and beyond critical AoA is a risky business - one engine glitch and he won't have any margin of recovery...
