The Seventh video in my A2A simulation Cessna 172 Tutorial. This series will be a complete tutorial on the A2A simulations Cessna 172 add-on for Microsoft's Flight Simulator X. Ill cover all phases of flights, as well as maneuvers, Pre flight planning, Emergencies,, and avionics. A new video every Wednesday in this series. so tune in to see it.

This video covers Cruise. So this video covers things to do during cruise like setting the altimeter as you fly, and touches on some VOR Navigation. This is going to be a long series to. I have just shy of 17 videos lined up for it.

You answered my question about mixture from previous video in this one. Very informative videos!

If you want to join your NAV course at at 45°, use HDG mode, if you want to join an any other angle use ROL mode. Also set your heading bug to your NAV course or the plane with oscillate from one course to the other. This can be deadly on an ILS. I know from experience. (As per the manual available from A2A.)

@Georgia Flyer. You aint got much choice when climbing above 4000, unless you want to slow to a crawl (unless your aircraft is turbocharged). do it slowly and you should not have a problem. IRL you actually twist the knob and that will move it slowly. In FS use the mouse wheel. dont grab and pull that will cause issues.

I thought leaning with full power was a bad idea? Couldn't it cause detonation, engine roughness, etc?

So if the airfield I was at was above 3000 ft would I lean out the aircraft before takeoff?

How do you fly with such a high rpm at that power setting
