You rock! Can you tell us how to run this? I have the exact same one and I have a hard time getting it really hot when it's cold out. Thanks!

I have one from 1982, most people that see it think it’s brand new. Once you figure it out it’s a fantastic stove

I just bought one that I think is the same as yours. It has 1975 numbers in the back of the interior stove. I was wondering if it should of come with a ash tray and grate in the bottom?

My brothers and i bought this stove for my parent's on their 25th anniversary. We hauled it downstairs and shortly after my dad got ill and it never did get installed.

Fast forward 40+ years and we hauled it back up the stairs and I'm now installing it in my shop, brand new.

I do have a question, what size does the oval outlet convert to, an 8" or 6" round stove pipe? Thanks for any help.

I have the same stove. What is the little vent by the side door hinge used for?

I have the same stove. Am I correct in understanding the manual that it should be full loaded with wood once a fire is established and the damper is ready to be closed?

Dad bought one in 82 and it is a workhorse. Efficient on wood too.

Is this non-catalytic? If I have the damper closed along with rear air vent (like in your video) doesn’t it risk putting out the fire? Or with air vent open (and damper still closed) does it burn wood more efficiently? I go through lots of wood on this to burn above the creosote level.. I have the identical stove (with flue pipe from rear) at a place I’m renting. Please advise, thanks for posting! Hard to find info on this old stove of how to use it best.

I thought I found one of these. It was given to me. After researching it I realized it was a knock off. It turns out that a company in Asia stole the design and stamped the out but with poor welding and seams that were not sealed well creating many house fires. The one I have looks exactly like that one. Also mine is sitting outside rusting to oblivion.

It just means the fire's been out for a while. Think about it, the thin pipe above the stove is always going to be the hottest part during a burn. Maybe a cat combuster can make them equivalent but I doubt it. Get a thermal camera and prove me wrong.

If that stove is actually fired up, you need to get new thermometers. That’s just not right.

A disaster for creosote buildup at those low temperatures in your flue gas. Lots of smoke. Smolder, not good
