To mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we sat down with Benjamin Mason Meier, and Lawrence O. Gostin editors of Human Rights in Global Health: Rights-Based Governance for a Globalizing World, to discuss the development of human rights since the Universal Declaration, the role of the WHO, and the importance of human rights for the protection of global health.

Benjamin Mason Meier is Associate Professor of Global Health Policy and Zachary Taylor Smith Distinguished Professor of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Lawrence O. Gostin is University Professor, Founding O'Neill Chair in Global Health Law, and Director of the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University.
