Hélène Day Fraser and Keith Doyle • Fluid Discourse in Design Studio Pedagogy
Показать описание
Resource models for post-secondary art and design institutions are shifting. The academy is asking its constituents to look to new funding models – encouraging faculty and staff to innovate from within. In the contemporary landscape compressed time, service, and constrained financial resources are affecting our approach to educational models: the ways in which educators teach, deal with administrative responsibilities and conduct their own creative research practice. This paper reflects on knowledge acquisition and mobilization within a Canadian Art and Design University. It describes an active research practice with a broad outreach that includes the local community. It reflects inwards to the University commons, involving faculty, research staff and research assistants from both the undergraduate and graduate level; and outwards looking at the opportunities available within a collaborative approach for such models as could exist within AICAD.
