Sounds like the XT3 was better than they thought, now Sony has to make a deal with a new race of alien beings for more advanced technology than the aliens that Fuji used. So it might take awhile for Sony to fly out to whatever galaxy has the best camera tech ;)

It's funny how everybody criticised Sony because of the regular frequency of their camera releases. Now everybody wants Sony to bring new cameras every time a competitor releases something. ☺

Waiting and waiting, I need that a7000! I have a6000 and want to upgrade, If sony will not do that soon I will switch to fuji or blackmagic because it's better deal now. Sony don't dissapoint me!

I’m probably one of the few that really like the current small Sony apsc body and prefer the evf in the lefthand corner. It’s just so discreet and easy to carry around.

From the rumours it seems like the next iteration will be a fair bit bigger and probably not much cheaper than the A73.
Getting a bit tired of the constant focus on video 60 fps and flippy screens - most people aren’t vloggers....

I'm getting really impatient too. I'm really tempted to upgrade to a6500 but knowing the next iteration is really close based on the rumours, I don't want to feel a buyers remorse in a couple of months with the 6500. At this point I might just go over budget and get the a7iii.

If they don't announce the a6500 successor tomorrow with pro APS-C lenses and impress me. I'm out! I'm going with the Blackmagic Pocket 4K.

I would take what is posted on Sony Alpha Rumours over this other site. All indications still point to an imminent release, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am currently sans camera and I have purchased the Sigma 30mm and 16mm f1.4 lenses ready, so I am just waiting. The longer it takes though I keep getting twitchy and tempted to just order the A6500!

I don't think SONY are crazy enough to pass on the xmas business and essentially hand it over to Fuji - this camera will come VERY soon!

I sure hope the next APS_C from Sony is in the same format as the 6500. I own the 6500 because of it's size and weight. I also really like the EVF on the left, not the center.


At this point what I'd like is a 6400 with IBIS and I'd be happy. As others have said I'd also go for a larger grip to allow for a bigger battery.

My suspicion is that due to Fuji’s recent release, Sony had to make some serious upgrades to the body they were going to announce to keep it on par with what is expected. I also think/speculate that Sony will will be releasing a “high end” apps-c equivalent of the Nikon D500 —in terms of being “pro oriented (just not as honking big).

Perhaps they realized that releasing a top end APS-C will add up to not if they do not also release appropriate lenses to suit it.

Classic case of new gear syndrome, get a reality check and see the superior work others are producing with 'inferior' equipment and ask yourself how is that possible? your then be on your way to becoming a photographer.

I been a dedicated Sony shooter for 3 years, and I was getting impatient, but I bought the xt3 when it came out I bought it. Ok it’s best camera in the world right now. The dynamic range is unbelievable!
