With apologies to Martinphiles everywhere, these old Southern Jumbos are hands down the most brilliant, robust, resonant, perfectly balanced (highs to lows) of any acoustic guitar I have ever heard. This is coming from someone who is as old as this beautiful instrument, and who's been playing for the last fifty-four years. And, J-45's of the same era don't come close to sounding this good. It's way more than just bling.

If I never owned a Les Paul or an SG or even a 335, I wouldn't regret it (I've never owned one of any of those). But those Gibson acoustics - I might have to win the Lotto or something... that was a particularly gorgeous tone.

Martin's have punch and guts, but it's these old sunburst Gibsons that steal hearts, even when the skin cracks in old age, like mine. As for the seam bustin out, well that happens with age too, I used to be a 30" inch waist myself!
