I'm convinced people who complain about how easy it is to beat the ender dragon don't actually like playing minecraft, they like beating games. Minecraft's purpose has NEVER been to beat the dragon asap, it's always been about creatively turning your world into your home, into a place you can call yours.

For clarification, my point that i tried to make (and failed) is that you can play the old version now still, but when 1.3 came out for example, you couldn’t play 1.4 or older (obviously because it hadn’t released)
