When you suffer... Pray

Elkanah along with his wives went every year in the tabernacle to worship the LORD. God had promised to the faithful Israelites that there would be no barren woman among them. But Hannah had no children, even though her husband was trying to comfort her, the annual celebration was a cause of great sorrow.

That year, Hannah brought her request before the Lord with a vow to dedicate the child to Him. She poured out her grieving soul to the Lord and He answered her petition. He first took her sorrow and soon after, she was pregnant.

Hannah was no longer suffering and according to her vow, she brought the child along with sacrifices and great joy. God took away the bitterness of her heart, Samuel her son was called to be a prophet and He gave her many more children.

If we're in sorrow let us pray, and if we ask our petitions for His glory and His kingdom, He answers and we experience the God of all comfort.
