This is a short video showing how to replace the PCB board in a Waeco and Dometic CRX 50 fridge. This PCB control board, sits inside the fridge behind the on off switch. Sometimes people mistakenly think the thermostat is faulty, when in fact it is the PCB board which controls the thermostat that is faulty. The end of the video shows the cheapest place to buy replacement parts for your Dometic and Waeco fridge.

Hi. I have the same fridge. Comp runs continously but not cooling at all. Cleaned coil ect at the back. Was clogged, but still no luck.

Oh wait, you skipped the main thing I was looking for. How did you determine that the thermistor was knackered? What voltage should it be? What were you reading for the broken one? My Older CR50 (no fancy panel) is constantly freezing.

Hi Scott. Very helpful video. Thank you. I've replaced the PCB board and thermistor on my Dometic CX80 but no luck yet. I'm interested in whether the replacement unbranded, generic control panel you mentioned worked. If so please provide a link to the retailer and I'll buy one. Cheers.

Very helpful thank you. Unfortunatly I've no idea how to fill in the address panel on LA Boutiques order form ("No shipping method has been selcted") Very frustrating as they have the part I need in stock. Not replying to emails either.

Hi Scott. Thanks for the vid. Can I ask - how can I be sure that it’s the pcb that’s faulty, and not the control unit? My problem is that there’s no lights on at all at the pcb, even though power supply into control unit is good.

Hi Scott, hi Scott, thank you for your help and advice! My crx50’s compressor gets very hot, too hot to touch, and runs nonstop, I checked the thermistor and the resistance values changed with temp changes, so I pulled out he pcb and visually it look fine no heat damage or shrinkage of plastic, is this likely the pcb still or something else? It’s draining power nonstop

Hello Scott,

Thanks a bunch for the video I'm about to attempt the fix myself after ordering the parts. I was wondering however what made you decide to change the whole control board while it seems that just the thermostat was faulty?

Thanks again,

Sam

hi Scott, thanks for the video. I have exactly the sama fridge and exactly the same problem. Changed the thermostat and control panel/pcb board but I still have the same problem. it does cool, compressor goes on but after a while the red light goes on (minute 6.35 in your video). wich means there is a thermostat problem. any suggestions? thanks
