I've been looking to get a midi controller and your videos have really helped me make my decision! I opted for the minilab because I'm new to anything music related and it's bundled software (Analog lab 4 lite and Ableton Live Lite) would be more expensive than the controller itself. I'm really excited to play around with those synths when I finally get my controller and it's mostly thanks to your awesome content that I was even able to make a decision. Thanks a million man, keep up the good stuff.

I ordered a launchkey Mini Mk3 yesterday so - after absorbing tons of tutorials, reviews & demos, here's hoping I was on the right track

Great video. My only disagreement is with the Akai being most agnostic. I see the Arturia as most agnostic and best choice all around. It has everything the Akai has, plus 8 more rotaries, dedicated pitch and mod wheels, the aforementioned Arturia synth plugins... but also the midi editor software which is quite deep.
Last but not least, Arturia's keyboard is arguably a bigger, more comfortable size than the Akai, but that's subjective.
Both are great but I just wouldn't claim the Akai as agnostically better.

I've been trying to purchase the Arturia Minilab MK2 for months now. It's never in stock. Supposedly they will be releasing some in June. Crossing my fingers. Thanks for all of your content!

I got a M-Audio Oxygen Pro, is an all-around... if you take time to set up everything. Even on my ACID Music Studio where you can't use control surface you still can set the pads as keys shortcuts to have a little of control, I'm fine just having transport control.

On Live I get almost same control as the Launchkeys, you don't have the fanciest colors for the pads but works.
You can set up the controls to work normal MIDI maping, Mackie or HUI, I even use it on the DaVinci Resolve

But I still find more useful the Komplete Kontrol M32 to find the right sound, I can have some control on my Oxygen maping the pots but there are not way to know what are you moving without see the PC screen.

So before getting or putting hands on midi controller, one should buy and learn from electronic keyboard as a beginner?

I'm very happy with the Novation Launchkey Mk3 mini. It works very well for what I need for recording in Ableton.

I did a review on the Arturia MK2! In my opinion it's the best (larger) controller in 2019! Great vid thanks Taetro!!

There is another important thing to consider before getting midi controller, especially if it's your first. Software package. IMO Minilab MK 2 is top tier in this department. Using it + Impulse 49 for couple of years now, no problems with software, everything is mapable.

I love my launchkey for when I'm in the studio and my mpk for when I'm away from home haha really think it works well and can't wait to expand my collection!

I have a Roland A300PRO Midi controller and Ableton Live. It has 8 dynamic pads (detects hard or soft pressing), 8 knobs, 8 sliders, 32 keys. It's amazingly versatile, confortable (for me at least) and is compatible with Ableton Live, but it is VERY HUGE compared to Akai MPK Mini mkII, so you can't just put it in your bag and take anywhere.
Nowadays I would definitely choose Akai MPK Mini mkII over APRO for what I'm trying to achieve but it was the best option I had at that time and since Roland is quite popular in Brazil, I thought of giving it a shot. I never regret buying it.

I know that are multiple players/effect on the midi keyboard. More useful then akai like lpk25, so Is it worth it for iPhone/ ipad user for beatmaker? Or just buying like lpk25 model and as you know that LPK25 is more simple menu for sampling?

Have you tried Modal Craft Synth 2.0? Possibly with midi-controller. Would like to hear what you think
