Bilstein B6 struts for the Lexus NX / Toyota RAV4 / Harrier | Front suspension & spring replacement

A detailed video guide on how to replace the front strut and springs of the Lexus NX. Since my NX 200t has adaptive variable suspension, I also include steps on how to delete the AVS system and seal the factory plugs.

The struts I install in this video are Bilstein B6 monotube shock absorbers. These are more performance oriented than twin tube shock absorbers such as the factory suspension. Bilstein also makes B4 struts for a milder, stock-like ride.

I also take out the RS-R Half Down Sus springs and replace them with factory springs in the video.

I'll come up with a follow up video talking about ride and performance of this suspension combo, so please do watch out for that!

00:00 - Intro and part numbers
01:22 - Front strut removal
07:27 - Strut disassembly
09:32 - Strut reassembly and tips
12:43 - Front strut reinstallation
17:20 - Adaptive suspension delete

Thanks for the video, I have a 2016 RX350 Fsport with AVS too. Recently I hitted a nasty pothole so hard that my front driver side tire blew up and the strut failed (Started leaking oil). Imagine my surprise when I was searching for a new strut and discovered that they are around $700 US dollars each. Looking in forums I discovered that some folks have used Bilstein B6 made for the 14-19 Highlander on the base model RX. But I was doubtful if I could do the same due to the electrical connection for AVS, fearing the car would freak out. One question, how can I know if I should replace or reuse the strut mounts and bearing while I'm in there?

Will this work for a 2015 Lexus NX200t F Sport, do you get any warning/light etc. for disabling the electronic part

Hi Chez Does Car. I have 2015 toyota harrier and i want to replace my stock shocks because it’s too bouncy.

I know B6 character is firmer but does its absorb the vibration well? My car interior is already rattling, so i want it not so noisy on the road.

Thank you

Hi. now I'm also planning to change the factory one to b6. ( IS 200) Wasn't it too hard for the street? How is the comfort? doesn't it bounce a lot?
