Zoom lens mod or something like a BackBone mod for other lens choices would be excellent - I don't mind a bigger camera/larger battery than the Hero9 since I don't use it for action footage that often. I use it more on gimble and closeup work and handheld camera moves as well. Bigger sensor and larger processor is going to generate more heat to deal with. Love the go pro concept - they need to step up their game and wow us with the GoProX

If the sensor will be the same, that's going to be a fail. I don't care about resolution. 4k, 8k, 50k... useless. 4k nowadays is absolutely enough and higher resolution isn't the key to success.

They left GoPro 9 users in the lurch with locking issues, heating, and pops on the internal audio. So I won’t be going near any more GoPros.

Lots of features but let down by software.

(1). 4K 120 FPS
(2). 8K (optional)
(3). Using Max Mod lens @ 4K 60FPS & not 2.6K
(4). NO FREEZE UP's when recording.
(5). New sensor

Thank you for these interesting thoughts. I have a 7 Black and the only reason a would buy a new GoPro would be a convincing blurry background. But, as you explained, that is not very likely for an action cam. I’m curious about DJI. The Osmo Action was quite good, but not a big commercial success, it seems. If they decide to continue, the Action 2 has to be sensational.

GREAT point about the bigger sensor and focus but, some how the 360 R1 is working well with their 1" camera. For me, horizon leveling at a true 4K is key! Holding any camera level during action, FPV or selfie or even a quick tripod placement never comes out perfect and IMO the lens mod, or level mode at 2k and the additional lens cost is and hassle, on and back off Is a PITA. I think insta 360's GO, R1 & R2 cameras are paving the way for less attention on composition and more focus on the actual action. What these cameras are supposed to be made for. . . I am betting on DJI and the OSMO 2 to come out right after the GP10 and swipe a big market share with the OSMO 2! They are using a 1" sensor on their latest air 2S drone and I hope it would be the same sensor in the OSMO 2.
30 degree minimum leveling in 4K and a 5.4K capability with decent dynamic range is my dream. The drone camera is all ready to go. . . and with decent sound, hate the popping. . . and obviously a front screen and working touch screen DJI will get my $$$. Man has that touch screen bit me the the ass a few times with the 9. . . I think GoPro is on thin ice. . . Missed you buddy, glad to see this video and hear your informed technical points!
