Thank for showing blood of bahamut some love. Game is still very under the radar and has alot of replay value to keep folks coming back. Working on the fan translation was so much fun

I remember buying Mech Assault for 5 bucks and having an absolute blast. The game was literally one of the best action titles on the DS.

Fighting fantasy looks like you're playing a comic book come to life. I like the art style

I remember discovering Time Hollow by chance while surfing the web. I found a copy and played through it, and absolutely loved it.

Exceptional! I hadn’t heard of most of these, which is a testament to the fact that you know no boundaries, you’re a worldwide gamer! Which leads me to a request: you always let us know the Japanese only games, but there’s no mention of whether a game is NA or EU. (Are there games that are only released in South America or Australia or another region? I don’t know!) For example, I have “Orcs and Elves, ” a brilliant low-res dungeon crawler from Id Software, and “Core” is obviously inspired by “Doom, ” but “Fighting Fantasy” looks like a high-res sequel to “Orcs and Elves”! What am I to make of this? More information would be greatly appreciated!
And isn’t it great that the DS was never region-locked!

Kicking it off with Soul of Darkness…heck yes! I know I’m already in for an excellent list! Such an underrated DSiWare game. Legend of Kage 2 is definitely another hidden gem I’m glad you highlighted, and one nobody really knew existed. Blood of Bahamut looks badass, and glad you said it has an English translation patch now. Definitely one I’ll need to nab, and surprised didn’t get a release outside Japan with how impressive it looks. Once again, another excellent episode that nails the topic at hand!

Oh my god! I use to play a version of Soul of Darkness made for old Java flip phones and it was the absolute bomb. I never knew it was an actual DS game
