My my that smooth voice and song is what the twinkling stars in the night sky are made of 😊 What a classy guy John was, as well as being a great Jazz singer he lived for the betterment of his family. Moving to London, England in the late 60s for the sake of his kids upbringing in safer drug free environment (no place is really drug free, but it’s the principles that count ) and better education. RIP “The poet Laureate of jazz”

The flautist on this track is also a fantastic talent, the whole instrumental composition and bossa rhythm is so sexy. Really good sound quality upload I could hear Hendricks famous scat towards the end clearly drifting off into the clouds 😂

Originally done by Les McCann, but this is one of Jazz's great voices Jon Hendrick's version, from the 1975 Tell Me The Truth album, not your typical Jazz album though, ranging from Soul to Funk through to Jazz, featuring Boz Scaggs on guitar, produced by Ben Sidran
