it's because the actual Museum in Los Angeles might be suing Infinity Ward for its depiction of the real life location

I was reading a post and I believe it said it was something to do with the real life counterpart it was based on was not happy that it was involved in a war game or something like that, kinda understandable but also annoying because I loved that map in the beta

Los Angeles Museum is opening a lawsuit against Activision for not asking permission to have the museum in the game

It got copyrighted because it is an actual real life place and they didn’t want involved with the game, some more maps may be removed also because of it being real life locations and doesn’t want involved with a violent game

I just now noticed this map was missing after this long. I was like "Wait a minute, there was this map I remember but never played it in forever". Now I know why.

They removed it because of copyright it was an exact replica of a real life museum and they didn’t want the map in the game so they were forced to remove it

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but Museum is a pretty accurate portrayal of the Getty Museum ran by the Getty family who are descendents of an oil tycoon and now run a stock photo copyright business, trade expensive art around and endevour in philanthropy. They're notorious for being stingy about the shit they own, I wouldn't be suprised if they had some stake in removing Museum from the game entirely(including a story mission that was supposed to include the Museum).

The reason they got rid of it is because it’s an exact copy of a museum in real life and they didn’t get permission to use it so they had to delete it

The museum got removed cause they didnt have permission to even make the map in the first place
