Presidential Holiday Cookies: Baking Coconut Macaroons
Показать описание
It's no secret that Thomas Jefferson is my favorite president. I even have the socks to prove it! I always love learning new facts about him, such as that he loved macaroons. Luckily, 'tis the season for baking holiday cookies! In this video, I'll do a little Christmas caroling, coconut macaroon baking, and fun fact telling. After watching, you'll be all ready to bring Thomas Jefferson's beloved macaroons to your next holiday gathering!
Coconut Macaroons Recipe
4 cups Sweetened Flaked Coconut (14oz. package)
1 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract
1/4 teaspoon Salt
Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Drop from a teaspoon onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Shape the cookies into rounds with your fingers.
Bake for 9-12 minutes in a 350 degree oven until tops and bottoms are lightly browned. Cool on parchment paper. Makes about 3 dozen macaroons.
