An Unstoppable Movement for Cane Self-Defense

preview_player
Показать описание
Keith Melton, the President of Cane Masters and a Senior Master of the Cane demonstrates one cane self-defense movement that may be unstoppable when your life is threatened and you have no chance of retreating safely. The rapid two-strike technique draws the attention of the attacker to the lower strike and leaves him open to the overhead strike. Together they make for an effective combination that may save your life and allow you to retreat safely and contact the authorities. Remember, your goals is never to hurt someone, but to allow time to withdraw to a place of safety and contact the authorities.

I am elderly and retired LE. I can and often do carry a concealed firearm but i also have knee problems that make the use of the cane very helpful. These videos are outstanding and have made me confident in my ability to protect myself without a firearm.

As I have told many people over the years, I can't run from trouble. I have to turn and face it. Thanks, Keith. --Old Guy

Thank you Sir, for your advice. I'm a senior citizen, retired, and often go hiking with my hiking pole. I'll practice with that. Good day to you.

This is great 😊
My blind friend uses 2 canes, one at a time, and has a guide dog. She was telling me she knew how to protect herself with a cane. She hasn't yet taught me anything as we are over 2 hours away from each other.
I am going to be checking out your videos.😊

I replayed this vid multiple times, and paid close attention to the way your grip shifted as you brought the cane down from the initial strike and then did the overhand. It might help folks if you would show the shifting of the grip in close-up and discussed it a bit. Good vid.

I had always thought in terms of wacking an attacker sideways but of course that is slow and gives him time to grab the stick. Your move is excellent, very fast, would be a surprise and efficiently directs my body's energy into a single straight line. Thanks.

I won, I just carry it. I think there's a bad person mantra: see stick, don't pick. I discovered that when after a summer of troubles, I had no attacks or attempts with two ski poles in the winter and so I carry one of those or a cane when there's no other reason for it. I carry it normally, use it like it's a walking stick and it works. Maybe there's someone or several going to fight anyhow, but hey, I went from several attacks or attempts to zero summer and winter, twice forgot to take one and during one of (those) walks there was another attempt. You taught me something in case I need to use it differently. 😊
