ZvZ is more of an aggressive match-up and will change from this

1st Overlord goes to safely view exit of opposing natural (further in vs zerg)
2nd Overlord goes to their 3rd base
17 Hatchery
17 Extractor
17 Spawning Pool
Rally army production to defend natural
Overlord goes to front of defensive natural
Mine up until 100 gas/pull 2 drones outta gas/ Metabolic Boost (speed)
4 Lings
2 Queens
If no expo, build +4 lings/spine/queens
3min 3rd Hatchery
Dedicate one queen to creep
After speed is done, return to saturate first gas
4 min evo/roach warren to wall off nat
Spore in each mineral line
4m15s Lair
30 drones take 2nd/3rd gas gases
40 drones take 4th gas and 2nd Evo
+1 Attack
Roach Speed
Hydra Den
5th and 6th gas
+2 attack +1 Carapace


*Later game*
If they dont have a 3rd or 4th, deny bases
Build spire and hive simultaneously

I have always been afraid/overwhelmed with zerg, I have always avoided it, I always chose toss. Finally came back after many years and I am going to learn it. A minor hint for beginners - instead of playing against no opponent, play against a "very easy" AI opponent.

It's effectively the same (you will get a trivial attack at around 6-8 mins) but the benefit is that you can practice scouting, overlord placement during the game and you will get APM and other charts/stats at the end.

OH MAN, i just used this build, not even like exactly the way u did it but just by creating my second base right away and then third i destroyed my opponent, i thought that by building something else then spawing pool would decrease my army value and make it hard to defend myself but even after he sent his reapers i was able to fully destroy him! my understanding of the game has simply expanded! Thanks!
