You have to hold the video button up for 3 sec til the green light flashes then its recording .

Bought the same one. Doesn't record, can't hook it up to computer. The best you can do is charge it and turn it on, otherwise it does nothing else.

I got one, it seems to work. But the words on the camera and the instruction is in Chinese, so I stopped messing with it.

I agree with your comments. I have had this same camera for a few months and I am never sure when it is on or off. I have missed recording I wanted and have several recording of me sitting watching tv when i thought it was off.
