Blender Help: Particle Objects Sinking Halfway into Collision Object

Показать описание
Yeah, pretty annoying. You're rendering a particle system, and the objects bounce or land on your collision object (plane in this case) and SINK, yes, SINK halfway into the object. Fine I guess if you're rendering MUD but I don't want mud. I want cement! Or hard dirt in this case.

Anyway, it's a very simple fix. Just click a box and voila. Your troubles are over. Clouds are parted. Birds sing. The sky is blue.

But for the hour it took me to find this solution, it was a steady hail storm.

Which is what I was trying to render.

Just not into MUD!

YES!!! Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I knew there had to be some setting for it. Short and sweet and no bs, subbed lol

This didn’t work for me, the particles are still sinking in the collider

Often, checking size deflect will cause the objects to land too high off the ground, especially if you scaled up the size in the physics tab. Sometimes the fix requires adjusting the size of the actual object along with doing some scaling in the physics tab--i.e., some balancing between the two scales.

For me it solved a problem, and cause another problem. The emmitor's objects is hovering over (like floating) on top of the collision.

Edit: So it's based on the scale numbers i gave to the object, the bigger the object, the bogger the 'hovering over collision' problem

omg you literally just solved the biggest problem in the blender history !!!!

This is the only video that actually provided the solution to this! Thank you so much, you just scored yourself a new subscriber.

I'm dealing with small objects (crumbs), and even though I'm dealing with a x10 scale based on a meter per grid unit, physics collision are getting hugely problematic. Size deflect has the particles jerk and hover, without size deflect some actually start falling through the solidified object below after they have landed.

Thank you! This was super helpful. Now I'm off to spend 3 hours trying to get these particles to stop bouncing everywhere...

Great job :)....but I wonder how to lie something down on the surface like straight paper, paper stars sticking to the surface...

I've been going around this by creating a mesh on top which is invisible to align it with the floor and i knew there had to be a better way, THANKSSS

Thank you so much!

Great usefull video. I have a another problem. The object I put on the floor is constantly shaking. Even though I made all the settings, it constantly vibrates. Why do objects in the blender rigid body not stay still, they move? Is there an easy way?

Im using something else than a sphere and it still does the same thing even with size deflect enabled. Cant for the life of it figure it out...

I have this problem with active rigid body, the rigid body gets "pulled" to the passive body as soon as the simulation starts and it collides half way, the rigid body is also jittering around

I have very small hitboxes in my animation. My particles were going straight through my objects. I was starting to go insane. Thank you so much for this video.

edit: oh wait it still doesn't work

Sweet was bashing my head why can't Permeability work and of course hide the check box ( that should be checked) Physics, Deflect. Thank made my day.

Thanks! Now I don't need to aim particles to get them to collide!
