The Montreal Canadiens at this point were done. Without Jacques LeMaire, Ken Dryden and Scotty Bowman they weren't going to win their 5th straight Stanley Cup. The Montreal Canadien goaltenders - Wamsley, Larocque & Herron sucked. It's time to put an old argument to rest about the 1976 Stanley Cup Finals between the Philadelphia Flyers & the Montreal Canadiens. Even if the Philadelphia Flyers had Bernie Parente & Rick MacLeish there was no way they were going to beat that Montreal Canadien Team in 1976. At best the Flyers would've maybe won one game. I'm not taking anything away from the 1976 Philadelphia Flyers because they were an outstanding hockey team but the Montreal Canadiens assembled an absolutely unbeatable hockey team headed by the greatest NHL Coach of all time, Scotty Bowman.
