One thing at least in the US that a lot just don’t realize is that change is something that is pretty heavily designed against. Most of the efforts to change things have to go through plenty of hurdles and most just can’t clear them. There is the framework for change, but the forethought to make that filter for controversial change before it can be enacted. By nature, if the change is wanted by a good majority, then It will be changed.

Why can't we be more realistic about what passes? Also, the whole "I'm gonna tax the 1%" rhetoric pretty much fails because the politicians never make any real drastic changes to the tax code, at least here in the US. Politicians are primarily beholden to their donors and the biggest donors or banks and corporations.
