How can it be so unintuative, why does photoshop not have a simple "make collage" button is beyond me

Awesome! My wife asked me about an hour ago, if we could get the family pictures we just took over Christmas put into some sort of photo collage, then I open my phone and see that there is a notification that you are covering this very subject in today's lesson.
