Bob Marley did that to a lot of his songs. The man was a musical GENUIS.

I love the Ska version and the Reggae version equally.
Both have great energies whether fast skanking or slower with consciousness❤❤

I prefer the original 1960’s ska version of Bob Marley’s One Love. They both sound great. Just a personal preference 👍🏾

Some artists have such a deep library (the isleys, bob Marley) they can do such things. Someone mentioned to me that by 74/75ish bob didn’t write much songs and that family man Barrett arranged the songs.

Bob Marley’s first version of One Love was a ska version which was the popular genre in Jamaica in the 60’s.. second version was later recorded as reggae which was becoming more popular globally in the 70’s.. he was a genius.

The difference between musicians who originated in the 1960s versus their careers in the 1970s is such night and day. When I first heard their 1973 rendition of "Who's That Lady, " I honestly thought it was a song from the 90s.

I much prefer the 1960s Wailers when Bob sang with Peter and Bunny.

Whoa. That ska beat behind One Love got me!
Also, I'm pretty sure the Isley brothers and the Everly brothers were trying to trick everyone into thinking they were each other.
It worked on me.
I always switch them in my head.
