What's really amazing to me is, not only does the Axe FX II sound just like the Mark V, it accurately replicates the 4x12 cab being mic'ed. All this tone straight into a DAW. Amazing. F-ing amazing.

Came for the amp comparison, marveled at the playing. Well done sir.

Awesome playing man. Thanks for doing a sound comparison that's not drop Z oversaturated Djent stuff. I can't hear any tonal differences when guitarists do sound comparisons playing that kind of music.

That is a well thought out, eloquent, and effective thesis on how one convinces themselves they don't really want one.

Very impressive. As an Axe FX II and Mark V owner I appreciate you taking the time to do this. The question marks in my head have been put to rest. The Axe is truly an exceptional and versatile unit. Many thanks!

Never thought I would say this but the Axe-FX sounds better to me!

Mark V! Actually, I LOVED the sounds on the G Force Mark V video. That sounded perfect. The digital head units are sounding great, but still not completely natural to me. I hear the robotic brain where the tubes/valves and transformer used to be. Tone! Excellent playing by the way.

when comparing these two I cannot get out of my head the fact that not only is it doing a wonderful job of producing the "Mark Tone" it does just as well for Marshall Peavey Bogner Vox Fender Engl as well... now add in all the effects like delay's chorus etc. I think the Axe FX is my next (and maybe last) purchase. awesome video man thanks for posting!

The best way to do this as a blind test to either close your eyes or open another page & just listen. I am really impressed

Both are good, its a question of taste, in the end is the hands of the artist that matters.

You're a technician! Tones are great, but the precession in your playing is just as impressive.

I really don't care about the comparison... I'm here because of your flawless playing... I'm a fan of your flawless playing and those mindblowing lead sections skills for a long time...

Nice Demo- outstanding playing. They sound pretty close. Both are great tools and do their job very well. I still prefer the Amp for recording... the Mesa V has an amazingly wide palate of tones. For live... digital offers a whole new world of flexibility, convenience, control and reliability while still sounding extremely good.

The Fractal's got more presence, more volume and more compression, a tad more bass as well I think.. The Axe is also clipping a bit. IF you could balance it a bit more I think it would be 99.99% same.. Solo tones are almost identical..

Put a hair more gain and a little less presence in the axe fx and it will be identical. Great job.

The real Boogie sounds more harmonic and warmer, definitly!

Axe always makes those palm mutes/thumps so amazing. I actually loved them more in several scenarios over the real amp lol/

It's not only the sound that you hear, but also the feel and response you get on your fingers while playing
And, having played both of them, Mark V (as every REAL AMP) wins
