I started teaching in 1984 and still teach. This video is so true.

This flexible and collaborative learning style is what use in special education and is appropriate for our children's needs. If they are engaged in their learning and doing their work effectively, i dont see a problem with it.

This shows the ridiculousness of the ever-changing jargon to make the teaching profession hell on earth. Admin that has NO idea what a real classroom looks like on a daily basis nor the constant shenanigans students get up to.

When you are a substitute teacher, they throw you to the lions. I started off with middle school and high school. When I finally had elementary, I almost cried, because the kids kept getting out of their desks, sitting on the floor to do their work. The principal walked in, and saw me almost in tears, and he asked me, "What's wrong?" I said, "Nothing". I thought, "Well, now I know nothing's wrong, I guess".

"You should present at our next PD..."

Out loud: Oh. No, thank you.

Internally: HELL to the no! So everyone can be mad at me that we're stuck in some stupid training that works for one teacher, but not everyone? Absolutely not.

Taking owernship of their learning? Not in the class I teach. They want me to tell them everything.

Walkthrough observations are really scored how the principal interprets it, if they like you or not and district scores of past assessments of student progress. How you are treated by the principal determines if you are going to be back next school year teaching or not.
