I own paints shop. I did took Birla opus agency now I am back to Asian paints . Because the margin offered was eventually subset by increase in price list in 6 months. I am holding their stock of 7 lakhs asking to return and no payment . my business is 80 years old & Birla opus agents are teaching me paints business.

The video is also a strategy by Birla Opus… out of nowhere everybody is talking about Birla Opus… Irony is no body talks about its quality.

This video is half baked. Asian pains stock didn't crash, it corrected as it was highly overvalued. Its bound to happen. Asian paints continue to do well but cant increase the profits to justify stock price. As a consumer people still prefer asian paints or dulux. The entire market is in correction phase as FII's are booking profit. It has nothing to do with asian paints company's performance.

I have worked with the paint dealers..

Asian Paints is a giant..many companies have come and gone but no one could make a dent in their sales..

I have used almost all brands, but I can trust only Asian Paints on the basis of value for money proposition

Asian paints stopped growing even before birla entered

discounts are temporary, and even if they continue to give discounts, its impact would be clearly visible on margins and balance sheets

Its not the dealers or shopkeepers that will decide the demand. Its the consumers. If the quality is not upto d mark and customer complaints arise, the shops and dealers will switch back to older brands itself. The higher margins are just a initial strategy offered for launching new products which may last max to max 6 mnths to one year.

Just by keeping paint boxes in shop doesn't increase business/market share.
Biggest paint consumers are automobile industry which is 60%.

Many Paint companies Entered in the market Before Birla Paints. It's just a bruised Bluechip .I'm bullish on Asian Paints now.

Till one year back all paint company used to earn 35-45% cagr margin and every one knows this.... Birla has offered 4-5% additional discount.... If Asian gives back.. Trust me... Asian can reach to 70% market share Aby day... Asian has 1.7 lac dealers and 97% numeric Stock has corrected by DIIs... To take holding from retail investors... Rest is as normal as be it any business

Asian paints is a household name, just attracting dealers won't work. In the end the customer has to buy! The dealer might pust the Birla pain to a Customer for one time but what about the next time? When they want to re-paint, would they still they prefer birla over asian paints? It all comes to a the quality and satisfaction of the end consumer.

Always look at the long term! You might remember NIPPON, thet had huge marketing campaigns including wooing the dealers and painters but yet they failed

Ya this happened with me, I traveled around 50km for asian paints. After 1 year I realised it was all worth to travel that long. 😊

If birla maintains good quality then surely it will work. Else if customers get to know it’s having bad quality even if agents recommend they won’t buy.

One is a paints company..other is a data science company

Asian Paints is a large company and can increase its margins to the dealers too. Then Birla will not have any advantage over Asian Paints and most people will prefer the established name brand which is Asian Paints.

similiar situation like telecom industry when jio entered markets Airtel was under question. Now both of them are making money and poor customers are always scapegoat
