What was wrong with using a few spacers sandwiched between two scraps of tile to get "close enough, I hope"? Lol

I just use a full rubber grout float (trowel or primo) it’s the perfect height and just the right amount of give. Montolit is crazy on their pricing of accessories I.e. this and mosaic mat

usually use a pool noodle cut down to the height of my sigma, the greatest cutter in the world...i do like these however
