My wife and kid really want to start playing with it and they don't understand that they can't use it until I unbox it :D

The Wii U ( /ˌwiː ˈjuː/) is a video game console from Nintendo and the successor to the Wii.[8] The system was released on November 18, 2012, in North America, November 30, 2012 in Europe and Australia and December 8, 2012 in Japan.[9][10] It is the first entry in the eighth generation of video game home consoles.[11][12][13]
The Wii U is the first Nintendo console to support high-definition graphics, capable of producing video output up to 1080p, and has 2 GB of RAM with half dedicated to the console's operating system.[14] The console was released in two versions:[15] a "Basic" white-colored version with 8 GB of internal Flash storage; and a "Deluxe"/"Premium" black-colored version with 32 GB of Flash storage. An HDMI cable is included with both versions.[10] The Wii U's primary controller is the Wii U GamePad, which features an embedded touchscreen. The touchscreen is used to supplement the main gameplay shown on the television or, with games supporting Off TV Play, can allow the player to continue playing games by displaying the main gameplay even when the television is off. In addition to the Wii U GamePad, a more traditional controller, called the Wii U Pro Controller, may be used.[16]

I absolutely love this console and having my 1 TB external hard drive hooked to it makes it able to download a ton of games from the Nintendo E-Shop.  In my opinion, this is a gaming console and then has media options unlike how the other 2 are marketing their devices as media centers but play games - well that is my take on it all

The price will drop, it has too. But then again it might not since Sony and MS are not supposed to have consoled out until the end of next year so it looks like Nintendo may get to run uncontested. But it would make sense for them to drop prices and try to corner the entire market before those consoles come out.

I'm on the fence so far. I used it for an hour or so and didn't really find anything about it super amazing. The controller is really cool but honestly I don't think they have really leveraged its potential yet (at least not in Nintendo Land).

I have a Wii U: DISADVANTAGE: You know how he said he would just carry it in his pocket? Well you need to have the Wii U Console with the Wii U Pad.

This may be the first major games console I won't buy since the NES came out. Then again, I said that about the Wii. Hopefully developers will start to inivate more with the tablet device and I will change my mind. At the moment it seems to be more of a novelty than a genuinely useful or enjoyable addition.Looking forward to your feedback. Merry Christmas!
