Been waiting for this for quite a while. Thanks for the detailed review, Jarrod. Do you think this would be a good laptop that can last three or four years considering that it thermal throttled during the stress test, assuming that 87c on the gpu is the thermal throttle limit?

Speaking of Acer gaming laptops, there's a new one that's been released, that as far as I'm concerned hasn't been touched upon (well that in depth) anywhere. It's the Acer Nitro V (yes, acer used a roman numeral XD), it's different from the nitro 16 and 15 if I'm correct, and even the back design is slightly different. The biggest difference I've seen is that it has the 2 fans together again compared to other or previous nitro 5s. It also comes with a 13th gen i5 or i7 and 4050 or 2050. How do you think will it stack up against other laptops?

I love my Helios 18, but disappointed that it does not have a standard-size SD slot. A laptop of this size and high cost definitely should have had a full-size SD card slot built into it. I did not realize it during my purchase, otherwise, I might have looked for a different laptop. Even though one can plug in an SD card reader via USB, it still would have been more convenient to have had one already built in. Hopefully, in the next version, the manufacturer will definitely include a full-size SD slot.

what's the point of complaining so much about the fan noise, every laptops have fan speed adjustability, just put on quite mode, but for those who need extra performance, its a bonus for them.

I want mini-LED in more laptops sooo bad! I'd also love a super slim and light 18" for massive screen traveling. Although it seems manufactures are allergic to even 17.3 for light laptops.

Hello sir... Quick question. Which one should i order. Tuf a16 7735hs, 7600s for 980 USD ? or Tuf a15 7735hs rtx 4060 for 1230 USD ?? Rtx 4060 performance gains and may be little better thermals of a15 worth 250 bucks considering a16 still has better, and tall screen over it also ?

I have the Helios 16 4080 and Enabling performance boot mode in the registry and modifying from aggressive to disabled or to efficient aggressive greatly improves the temp for the Helios 16 up to 20c less during gaming and does not effect performance.

Why did you remove both the legion slim 5's from the game performance tests? They both performed better than the Acer nitro 5 and you have included it in the comparison.
