Pentium II also known as Celeron, performed slowly under Windows 98 at 400 MHz on a generic desktop computer in my experience. Seemed indifferent from the original Pentium on old computers with 0.98 GB HDD and 16 MB of RAM. Yeah, that was at work, not home, but still a bug-ridden experience at times. Computers back then sure last longer than they do today because they weren't made in China.
